Lichfield: A massive pile of rubbish has blocked a country lane. This mess was dumped on Watery Lane early Sunday morning. It’s caused quite a stir, isolating homes and businesses nearby.

Staffordshire Police had to seal off the road. The Environment Agency got involved because the waste was so extensive. Lichfield District Council quickly arranged for a contractor to start cleaning up on Tuesday morning.

A council spokesperson mentioned they were aware of the situation. They’re looking for clues about who did this. They want to remove the waste safely and quickly. If anyone knows anything, they should call the council.

Elaine Hutchings, who runs a livery yard, shared her concerns. One end of the road was already closed for other work. She said, “Watery Lane is a popular shortcut.”

With the rubbish dumped, residents are feeling trapped. There are about ten homes affected. Thankfully, a nearby development opened access, but many are still stuck. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
