Stechford: A woman and a child were hit by a car last night. They were taken to the hospital with leg injuries. Thankfully, their injuries are not life-changing.

The incident happened around 8 PM on Albert Road. The driver mounted the pavement before hitting them. Police are looking into possible links to previous violent incidents in the area.

Just a few months ago, there were reports of a shooting and arson attacks on the same street. A man and a teenager were arrested after a home was shot at in December.

Police are also investigating two arson attacks on the same property. One involved a car being set on fire just before New Year’s.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said they are reviewing CCTV footage and have recovered the vehicle for forensic examination. They are increasing police presence in the area and encourage anyone with information to reach out.
