A new snow map shows a major snowstorm hitting England soon, with details on timing and affected areas. Stay prepared for the winter weather ahead!
Cardiff: So, there’s a big snowstorm on the way! New maps show a 268-mile band of snow could hit England soon. It’s expected around Sunday, January 26.
The snow will stretch from North Devon Coast to the Holderness coast in Yorkshire. It’ll keep falling until about 9 am, with the heaviest snow in north Wales and Northern Ireland.
Looking at the short-term forecast, Thursday will start with rain moving northeast across the UK. Higher ground in northern England and Scotland will see snow. The south should be brighter in the afternoon, but it’ll be windy.
Later, a band of heavy rain will push east overnight, bringing hill snow in the north. Winds will pick up, especially in the west. Tomorrow, Storm Éowyn will bring strong winds to northern areas.
Expect heavy rain to sweep east, clearing the south by afternoon for some sunny spells. The weekend looks windy too, with blustery wintry showers in north and west Scotland.
Sunday will be wet and windy again, with heavy rain moving north. Monday will stay unsettled with showers or longer rain spells. The Met Office says February will start mild, with rain and strong winds alternating with brief sunny spells.
So, keep an eye on the weather and stay warm out there!
