A massive snowstorm is expected to blanket the UK, with temperatures dropping to -4C. Five regions in England are at risk of heavy snowfall.
UK: A big snowstorm is on the way. It will stretch 712 miles across the country. Temperatures could drop to -4C. Snow is expected from Durness in Scotland to Ashford in England.
According to WX Charts, using Met Desk data, snow will start at midnight on February 12. Scotland might see two centimeters of snow every hour.
In England, areas like Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, and Cumbria are at risk. Snow could reach one centimeter deep. The North East, East Midlands, and Yorkshire are also in danger, bringing the total to five affected regions.
The Met Office forecasts temperatures around -4 to -3C from February 7 to 16. High pressure will likely sit east of the UK, leading to dry conditions in the south and east.
However, the north and west might see Atlantic air bringing rain and milder temperatures. The Met Office shared this outlook over the weekend.
Looking ahead, there’s a small chance of colder conditions if the high pressure shifts. This could lead to wintry showers in some areas.
