The UK is gearing up for a chilly spell with snow and freezing temps hitting soon
Maps from WX Charts show that snow will blanket large areas. The Midlands and central Wales aren’t safe either. Expect sub-zero temps and snow over the weekend of January 25 and 26.
On January 27, snow could fall at a whopping seven centimeters per hour near the England-Scotland border. And yes, it’ll stretch down to Stoke and across Wales too.
Looking ahead to February, central Scotland might see those -8C temps on February 5. James Madden from Exacta Weather says we’ll have thick clouds and some fog before the storm hits.
He warns that strong weather systems are on the way from the Atlantic. By Thursday, expect more showers, and they’ll start turning snowy, especially in the northern half of the UK and parts of Ireland.
Two significant winter storms are expected around Friday and again on Sunday or Monday. They’ll bring strong winds and rain at first, but don’t be fooled—it’ll get cold enough for disruptive snow showers.
