London: The UK is gearing up for a serious snowstorm. A massive 268-mile wall of snow is on its way. It’s expected to hit starting this weekend.

Weather maps show snow moving in on January 26. South Wales, the Midlands, and Yorkshire will see the worst of it. The snow could last until about 9 AM in northern England.

James Madden from Exacta Weather says more snow is likely after this storm. He mentioned that Friday night into Saturday will bring heavy snow to northern England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Snow showers will continue through the weekend. Some areas, even as far south as London, might see accumulating snow. Warnings will likely be issued for those regions.

By early Saturday, southern England could also face snow risks. The situation will worsen Saturday night into Sunday morning, especially in northern England and Scotland.

The Met Office provided a short-term forecast. They noted that frost and fog will clear, leading to a bright start for many. However, a band of wet and windy weather is moving in.

As the rain moves east, much of the UK will enjoy a dry evening. But keep an eye out for Storm Éowyn, which is expected to arrive in the west soon.
