A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Bristol for thefts from vans, prompting increased police patrols in the area to combat rising vehicle crime.
On January 29, officers stopped a 17-year-old boy and arrested him. He was suspected of being equipped for theft and had a pair of pliers with him.
Later, police found more items at a home in South Bristol. They seized an angle grinder, gloves, and a balaclava. The boy denied the charges and was released while the investigation continues.
Sergeant Ben Spence mentioned that vehicle theft is a big concern. He urged people to report any suspicious behavior around vehicles.
Avon and Somerset Police are focusing their efforts in Bedminster and Southville. They are using both uniformed and plain-clothed officers to catch offenders and prevent further thefts.
