Birmingham: A suspected drugs lab was discovered under railway arches in Aston. West Midlands Police set up a large cordon around the area early Tuesday morning.

They blocked off Thimble Mill Lane and nearby roads, causing traffic delays. Train services on the Cross City Line were also temporarily suspended.

At the scene, police and fire crews were present, investigating the suspicious site. A scientific advisor from the fire service was also there to assist.

Witnesses reported seeing police activity early in the morning. One local business owner mentioned that the area was open before the cordon went up.

Police confirmed they found drug manufacturing equipment and chemicals at the site. They believe it was being used as a drugs lab, similar to what you might see in a TV show.

While the cordon has been reduced, police are still on-site as investigations continue. They encourage anyone with information to reach out through their website or call 101.
