Bridgnorth: Severn Valley Railway is in trouble after a landslip damaged 30 meters of its track. This heritage railway runs through Worcestershire and Shropshire, attracting families and train lovers alike.

The damage happened about 300 meters north of the Sterns area. The railway has faced issues here before, but this latest problem could lead to a big repair bill.

In a message to customers, the railway said they will reach out to ticket holders directly. They ask that customers not contact them while they sort things out.

Jonathan ‘Gus’ Dunster, the managing director, mentioned they plan to reopen on February 15 for half-term. However, services between Bridgnorth and Hampton Loade are currently suspended. He reassured passengers that they will be contacted soon via email.

Gus also noted that this setback comes after years of financial struggles for the railway. They now need to find funds for the repairs and welcome any donations to their Resilience Fund.

Chris Bond, the head of infrastructure, assessed the damage and warned that the area is still dangerous. They will consult specialists for guidance, but repairs will take time and money.

The railway has already received many donations but hopes for more support to help with the necessary repairs.
