Solihull: A child killer named Brian Field has died in prison. He was linked to several unsolved murders and disappearances in Birmingham. Field was 87 years old when he passed away from stomach cancer at HMP Full Sutton.

Field was convicted in 2001 for the murder of 14-year-old Roy Tutill. He kidnapped and assaulted Roy in 1968 while the boy was hitchhiking. Field was caught after DNA linked him to the crime, which took over three decades to solve.

Before his death, Field was questioned about the disappearances of two schoolboys, Patrick Warren and David Spencer. They went missing on Boxing Day in 1996 and were later called the “Milk Carton Kids.”

Field lived nearby when the boys vanished. He had access to a property where he dug a deep trench, raising suspicions. Police have kept the case open, but Field denied any involvement.

Field was also linked to the death of 15-year-old Mark Billington, who disappeared in 1984. Mark’s family believes Field was involved, as he lived close to where Mark was last seen.

West Midlands Police continue to review the cases. They say any new evidence will be thoroughly investigated. Field’s past makes him a person of interest in these ongoing investigations.
