Birmingham’s police chief reassures parents after a tragic stabbing incident involving a 12-year-old boy, urging community vigilance and support.
Despite efforts from bystanders and emergency services, the boy sadly passed away in the hospital. A 14-year-old boy was arrested later that evening on suspicion of murder. He’s also linked to a serious attack on an elderly person just days before.
The victim attended Christ Church C of E Secondary Academy. The school is now supporting students and families during this tough time. Parents are understandably worried about their kids’ safety while walking home.
Chief Superintendent Richard North addressed these concerns. He acknowledged how disturbing this incident is for everyone. He reassured parents that the arrest is a positive step. More police will patrol the area to help ease fears.
Mr. North described the arrested teen as a key part of their investigation. He urged anyone with information, including CCTV footage, to contact West Midlands Police. The community’s help is crucial as they work through this investigation.
