The former youth hostel in Perranporth will be transformed into a wellness hub, cafe, and community space by The Watering Hole team.
Perranzabuloe Parish Council confirmed Gramelan Limited won the bid to run the hostel. They also run The Watering Hole in Perranporth. The council searched for a new tenant after the old lease ended.
Tommy Job is behind Gramelan, and he plans to make the hostel a community asset. It will still have affordable rooms. The Watering Hole shared the news on Instagram, expressing their excitement to bring the hostel back to life.
The hostel was Perranporth YHA for 40 years, but recently it was only used for private rentals. Gramelan plans to keep the hostel rooms affordable and fun. They are also adding a wellness hub with hot tubs, saunas, and ice baths. A café and community hub will feature clifftop views.
Gramelan will take over the building on April 1, 2025. They will have a nine-year lease and pay £35,000 in rent each year. They will also help fund community projects nearby.
