Police have confirmed that no charges will be brought against three men arrested in connection with a Bristol teen girl’s alleged abduction.
The case gained national attention in spring 2022. The girl, who was in foster care, went missing multiple times. Police initially treated it as a missing person case but later escalated it to a child abduction alert.
The girl was reported missing in mid-April 2022. After eight days, she was found but went missing again shortly after. Police issued public appeals, fearing she was with an adult man.
On May 11, 2022, police held a media conference. They expressed concerns for her safety and stated they were treating the case as a child abduction. They released CCTV footage of her last known sighting.
A few days later, the girl was found in Bristol with three adult men. They were arrested on suspicion of child abduction but were never named. After some time, police stopped providing updates on the case.
In October 2022, it was revealed that two of the men were released without charge. The third man remained under investigation until recently. Police confirmed that there was not enough evidence to proceed with charges against him.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police stated that the investigation was thorough but led to no further lines of inquiry. The man has now been released without charge.
