A man was arrested in Newcastle’s West End after a police raid related to drug offenses. Part of a city-wide operation.
The police arrived just after 8 a.m. and entered the house. Officers thoroughly searched the property, brought out a man, and arrested him on suspicion of drug crimes.
This is part of Operation Impact. Officers execute warrants in the area and work on prevention. The North East Regional Crime Unit, Newcastle City Council, and other police partners are assisting.
Chief Inspector Bennett spoke about the operation, stating that it’s a coordinated approach. He said they work with partners for enforcement and respond to public concerns. You will see more police in the area, showing the public they are present.
They are working with Trading Standards and using operations teams to deal with harmful offenders. Police are targeting suspects and preventing crime together, which gives reassurance to the public.
