Dudley: Drivers in Dudley will soon see new 20mph speed limits. The council’s highways chief, Cllr Damian Corfield, just approved these changes.

These new traffic orders aim to tackle issues like parked cars blocking views at junctions. They also address safety concerns for pedestrians, especially near schools.

Cllr Corfield mentioned that residents and local officials raised these issues. The goal is to make roads safer for everyone.

A big part of Dudley town center will have the new speed limit. Roads like Trindle Road and King Street will be affected. Only buses and authorized vehicles can use St Joseph Street.

Discovery Way and Zoological Drive will also see the 20mph limit. Plus, there will be changes to parking rules in several areas.

Some proposals, like banning right turns at certain junctions, were dropped after feedback. Local councillors felt it wouldn’t significantly impact traffic flow.
