Ashton-under-Lyne: Allwyn has announced new rules for National Lottery scratchcards. This is the biggest change in 30 years. They are testing new technology at an Asda store.

The new scratchcard dispenser is called the SCiQ retail ecosystem. It has a 27-inch digital display and a touch screen for staff. This system securely holds the scratchcards and speeds up sales.

This technology is a first for the UK. It offers retailers data-driven features like inventory management and sales analytics. It makes the buying process easier for customers too.

When a customer picks a game, staff select it on the touch screen. The system records the ticket info and dispenses the scratchcards automatically.

Jenny Blogg, Allwyn’s Operations Director, shared their excitement about this new technology. They worked closely with Asda to create a great experience for customers. They will assess the results over the next few months to see how to move forward.
