South Bristol: The subway at Bedminster train station just got a major facelift. Two vibrant murals have been painted, making the space feel alive and welcoming.

Local artists Paul Monsters and Lucas Antics created these stunning pieces. They were funded by contributions from developers in the area. It’s a great way to use that money for the community.

The murals were unveiled recently, and they really brighten up the previously dull underpass. This project was a collaboration between Upfest and the Severnside Community Rail Partnership.

Alex Lucas from Lucas Antics shared how much he enjoyed working on this project. He said it’s a daily space for many people, so it’s nice to add some color and reflect the community’s spirit.

Local wildlife and landmarks are featured in the designs, making it a true representation of Bedminster. The goal was to create a vibrant gateway that everyone can enjoy.

Local councillors were also involved in making this happen. Cllr Lisa Stone expressed her excitement about improving the station experience for everyone.

Previously, there was some artwork in the underpass created by school kids, but it was time for a change. That old art has now been returned to the school for display.

Overall, this project is part of a bigger effort to enhance the local environment. The community has been calling for improvements, and it’s great to see those wishes come to life.

Station manager Alex Hills is thrilled with the transformation. He encourages everyone to visit and see the new artwork for themselves. It’s a fantastic addition to the station!
