A man followed a young girl in Bristol after asking her for directions to a shop. The incident raised concerns among local parents and authorities.
The girl, in her early teens, was approached by a man in a white Seat Leon. He asked her where to buy a vape and then requested she get into his car. She refused.
After she declined, the man got out and followed her for a short distance before returning to his car. He then drove off towards Queens Road. The girl later met two other people nearby.
Witnesses described the man as being in his 20s or 30s, slim, and of mixed heritage. He wore a black T-shirt and jogging bottoms, with dark hair in braids.
Police are asking anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam footage to call 101 and reference number 5225029323. Inspector Terry Murphy reassured parents that investigations are ongoing.
He praised the girl for her quick thinking and confirmed that they are reviewing CCTV footage. Additional police patrols are planned to ensure community safety.
Authorities are particularly interested in speaking with the two people the girl encountered after the incident. They may have valuable information, even if they didn’t see the man.
Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses to help clarify the situation. They want to understand the circumstances surrounding this concerning event.
