Select is shutting down its Broadmead and Broadwalk stores in Bristol, offering up to 70% off during closing sales as part of a national closure plan.
The stores in Broadmead and Broadwalk are now having closing down sales. Shoppers can find discounts of up to 70% off everything.
Select offers a variety of women’s fashion, shoes, and accessories. However, the chain has faced challenges recently, leading to store closures nationwide.
Last week, other locations like Kidderminster and Crewe also announced similar sales. Staff thanked customers on social media as they prepared to close.
The Broadwalk store’s closure adds to the challenges for the shopping center, which may be demolished soon. Plans are in place to replace it with over 800 flats.
Meanwhile, the Broadmead store’s closure means another empty space in Bristol’s shopping area. The city is set for major changes, including the demolition of the old Debenhams building.
Select Fashion started in the 1980s and had around 100 stores in the UK as of 2024. It faced tough conditions and went into administration in 2019, risking many jobs.
After being bought out, Select entered a Company Voluntary Arrangement last summer to manage its debts while still operating. This is a common strategy for struggling businesses.
