A crash on the M54 led to a 20-minute delay for drivers during rush hour, causing significant congestion.
The single-vehicle crash happened between junctions 3 and 2 on a Tuesday morning. Medics got there around 6:59 AM to check on a van occupant. Thankfully, they didn’t need to go to the hospital.
By 7:30 AM, National Highways warned drivers about three miles of traffic. They also mentioned that West Mercia Police was moving the van to the hard shoulder.
One lane was closed for a bit while they cleared the scene, but it reopened by 8:15 AM. Still, there were about 4.5 miles of congestion, leading to delays of around 55 minutes. Luckily, traffic is back to normal now.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called at 6:59 AM about the crash. One ambulance went to the scene, and the van occupant was checked out but didn’t need further treatment.
