The community is reeling as updates emerge about the tragic murder of 12-year-old Leo Ross
The school he attended, Christ Church C of E Secondary Academy, confirmed that the suspect isn’t a student there. Parents were informed as the community tried to process this heartbreaking event.
Leo was described as a lovely and bright boy. Sadly, he passed away in the hospital hours after the attack. A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is still in police custody.
The school is working closely with Leo’s family. They’re planning a memorial service and a book of remembrance to honor his life. They also have support services available for students and staff during this tough time.
Police are urging anyone with information or footage from the area to come forward. Chief Superintendent Richard North expressed his condolences, calling the attack appalling and senseless.
