A 14-year-old boy charged with murdering Leo Ross has had two assault charges dropped in a Birmingham court hearing
The court approved a request from the Youth Offending Team for a “non-court disposal” for the two counts of assault against emergency workers. The names of the officers involved were mentioned, but no details about the incidents were shared.
The alleged assaults took place on November 26 last year. The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, did not need to attend the hearing.
He is set to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on April 22. There, he will enter pleas for the murder charge, possession of a bladed article, and four other assault charges. Leo was tragically stabbed in the stomach at The Shire Country Park in Hall Green. His family described him as an “amazing, kind, loving” boy in a tribute.
