London: Kate Middleton is taking big steps in her cancer recovery. She recently left the UK for the first time since her diagnosis. Kate, along with Prince William and their kids, enjoyed a family ski trip in the Alps.

They had a quiet break, just over two weeks ago, with the Middleton family. The royal family was spotted sipping hot drinks at a mountaintop restaurant. They even shared a meal there, looking relaxed and happy.

Kate also made her first solo visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. This was her first engagement in over a year. Royal watchers say it’s part of her plan to manage her recovery and return to duties.

A witness at the restaurant said they seemed like any normal family. There were lots of laughs, and the kids were polite. The only sign of their status was the security guards that arrived with Kate.

Staff mentioned it was lovely to see her enjoying herself. Many didn’t even recognize them, as they’ve been visiting the area for years. Kensington Palace has noted that her return to full duties will be gradual.
