Heighley Gate near Morpeth will reopen in March with a new carvery, creating forty jobs for the Northumberland area.
British Garden Centres bought the place. It’s near Morpeth, and they’ll close it briefly for work. It should reopen in early March.
They’re also fixing up the restaurant, and a carvery is getting added too. This means about twenty new jobs.
They’re talking to current shops there and hope to add some new ones as well. British Garden Centres kept forty current workers and want to hire more folks, maybe fifteen to twenty new employees.
The soft play area stays open, and mini golf will still be there. Also, it goes back to being Heighley Gate.
They bought another store, too. It used to be Dobbies at Gosforth Park, and they’re planning to add a carvery. Work is underway now and should open in mid-February.
Heighley Gate is not their only garden center. They also own East Durham Garden Centre. They secured these after Dobbies struggled after Dobbies closed seventeen stores that had financial challenges.
