In Bristol, families and friends honored Max and Mason with a balloon launch, marking a year since their tragic deaths. The community showed immense support during the event.
The families released balloons and flares to celebrate their lives. Red and blue balloons filled the sky, representing Mason’s love for Liverpool and Max’s role as captain of Park Knowle FC.
Messages of love were written on the balloons. They also honored Darrian Williams, who would have turned 17. He was killed shortly after Max and Mason.
Max’s mom, Leanne, expressed gratitude for the community’s support. She said it helps their families heal together. The event was postponed due to storms but included a plaque unveiling and tree planting.
Leanne shared that understanding the tragedy will take time. She hopes to turn the negativity into a positive legacy for Max and Mason.
Max’s sister, Kayleigh, appreciated seeing young kids at the event. She believes change starts at home and values the community’s support during this tough time.
Max and Mason were attacked by a gang outside Mason’s house while heading to get food. The attackers were sentenced to life in prison for their crimes.
Mason’s mom, Nikki, felt the event was meaningful. She believes Max and Mason would have loved it, even as the pain remains fresh for their families.
