An Arctic blast is set to bring -8C temperatures and snow to the Midlands, with significant snowfall expected across the UK starting February 12.

Weather maps show purple clouds moving down from Scotland. Central areas could see about 13cm of snow. Flurries are also expected in north west England, Wales, and the Midlands.
Western Scotland will experience lows of -6C. North western England and northern Wales will drop to -2C. The south east of England will see temperatures around -1C.
The cold snap will continue into February 13, with Scotland hitting -8C. The Met Office predicts colder spells are likely from February 5-14.
Initially, the UK will have clear or sunny spells. Some rain may occur, but dry weather is expected. Lighter winds could lead to overnight frost and fog in central and southern areas.
As the month progresses, unsettled conditions may return, especially in the north and west. Southeastern parts are likely to stay drier. Overall, temperatures will be close to normal, with mild spells in the northwest.
