Walsall: A patient named Daniel Hendron is really upset. He says Walsall Manor Hospital has a serious mouse problem. He claims the mice are running around every night.

Daniel, a 32-year-old groundworker, was admitted for a leg infection. He started on Ward 22, which was okay. But his last days on Ward 9 were a nightmare.

He heard that nurses had been reporting the mouse issue since November. Daniel wondered why patients, especially those with infections, were still there. He said, “Mice are dirty, it’s disgusting.”

When he got to the ward, he noticed staff were already complaining about the mice. They were scared to put things in the staff room. Daniel even shared videos of the mice on social media.

Other patients were also fed up with the situation. Daniel felt like nothing was being done to fix the problem. He said, “They’ve just said it had been reported.”

He mentioned that the mice come out every night. During the day, they seem to hide. But as soon as the coast is clear, they’re back.

A spokesperson for Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust apologized for the distress. They assured everyone that pest control measures are in place. They also mentioned increased cleaning and checks for access holes to prevent more incidents.
