This week’s Cornwall court cases include sentences for assault, racially motivated harassment, and driving offences.

Here’s what happened in Bodmin and Truro courts.
John Cain, 50, from Launceston, had cocaine. This happened in May 2023. He also assaulted police in January 2025. He must pay £50 compensation. Cain received a £200 fine plus £85 costs.
Jonathan Allen, 53, from St Columb, didn’t give a specimen. Police suspected he drove drunk in March 2024. He got a community order and curfew. Allen can’t drive for 29 months. He also pays £85 costs and £114.
Jason Squires, 49, from Par, drove with drugs. This occurred in April 2024 in St Austell. His tires were also illegal. He got jail time suspended for a year. Squires must do rehab and unpaid work. He’s banned from driving for 30 months.
Sarah Neale, 28, from Launceston, harassed someone. This was racially motivated in Plymouth, June 2024. She also assaulted people at a pub. She must abstain from alcohol. Neale requires mental health treatment. She must complete unpaid work too and pay £250.
Andrew Archer, 37, from Landrake, broke a restraining order. He was with someone he shouldn’t have been with. This happened in late 2024. He received suspended jail time. Archer must do rehab and unpaid work. Also, he needs to pay £85 costs.
Thomas Williamson, 36, from Saltash, assaulted someone in Camborne. He also forced entry into a building, July 2024. He got a conditional discharge for a year. Williamson must pay £200. He can’t contact his victim.
Clive Harrison, 67, from Liskeard, sped in Calstock. He drove 39 mph in a 30 mph zone, April 2024. He got three points on his license. Also, Harrison must pay a £92 fine.
