Nicholas McCabe, 57, was jailed for 27 years after being convicted of 25 crimes. He abused multiple victims in Staffordshire from 1990s to 2000s.
Nicholas McCabe, age 57, received his sentence today. The court found him guilty of 25 crimes last August, and he will serve 27 years in prison. He is from Ipstones, Staffordshire.
His crimes included rape of a girl under 16 and sexual assault on a female aged 13 or older. His actions became known when a survivor contacted police in 2020. Other survivors then shared their experiences with officers.
McCabe’s convictions and jail time cover many charges. He committed eight rapes of a girl under 16, four rapes of a woman, and eight indecent assaults involving a girl under 16. Three sexual assaults targeted a female aged 13 or older, and there were also two counts of sexual assault on a female.
Staffordshire Police praised the survivors’ courage. They secured strong proof, leading to his guilty verdict on all 25 crimes. One survivor bravely reported the abuse in 2020, and police then worked to gather evidence for court. More survivors aided the investigation.
Their courage allowed them to secure complete evidence. This evidence then allowed the jury to find McCabe guilty of all charges.
His sentence includes a 12-month extended license after prison. Police encourage sexual abuse survivors to reach out; they can call 101 or use the website’s Live Chat. Specially trained officers provide support and help bring offenders to justice.
