A 12-year-old boy was arrested at a Staffordshire school after allegedly making threats, prompting a lockdown to ensure student safety.
The school reported that an ex-student came in but wouldn’t leave. Staff then locked down the school and called Staffordshire Police for help. They described it as a ‘disturbance,’ and subsequently, a twelve-year-old boy was arrested.
Police were alerted to a threat made by a boy. He was arrested on suspicion of affray. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident.
Staffordshire Police issued a statement, confirming they were called about a disturbance on Bridge Cross Road. The school raised concerns about threats, as one student had made threats to another. Police reassured that nobody was injured.
Upon arrival, police arrested the twelve-year-old boy, who is currently in police custody. The investigation into the events is ongoing.
The headteacher, Nicola Mason, informed parents about the situation. She explained that an ex-student had entered the main reception and refused to leave the building. As a precaution, a lockdown was initiated to keep students safe in classrooms.
Mason confirmed that students were not at risk, as the issue remained contained in the reception area. Police responded quickly and removed the ex-student from the premises, ensuring he is no longer in the area.
Mason emphasized that they took preventative measures intending to keep children safe. She expressed gratitude for everyone’s understanding of the situation.
