A residential street in Stoke-on-Trent faced chaos as 40 teens threw a wild party, prompting police intervention and complaints from frustrated neighbors.
Stoke-on-Trent: Neighbors are really upset about a party house nearby. They say it’s been a nightmare, with homes smelling like drugs. The place is listed on Booking.com, but it has a no party policy that seems to be ignored.
Police were called to the house on Mornington Road a couple of times recently. One neighbor said around 40 teenagers showed up for a party. Another time, a group partied until 3 AM. That’s just too much!
One local shared, “For months, different people have been coming and going. The noise is crazy, and the smell of drugs is awful. It feels like an empty house where anything goes.”
Another neighbor mentioned, “My daughter’s room smells like weed. There’s loud music and cars everywhere. It’s really disturbing our peace. With so many teens around, I worry about damage to my property.”
About the party on December 27, they said, “There were 40 teens, ages 13 to 19. The drug smell was overwhelming. Bottles were breaking, and kids were running wild.”
“The police came and cleared them out, but they returned. I had to call the police again. They found the place covered in drugs, and the party went on until 11 PM,” the neighbor added.
On New Year’s Eve, police arrived in a riot van to break up the party. They dumped the alcohol and locked the doors, making sure no one could get back in.
“If it was just one party, I wouldn’t mind. But it’s different people all the time, and it feels unsafe. Anyone can book it and throw a wild party,” they said.
“I just want more checks. This is a quiet neighborhood for families. I want to make sure people know what’s happening here.”
Staffordshire Police confirmed they responded to the property on both occasions. They said they’re keeping an eye on the situation. Booking.com is in touch with the property owner.
A spokesperson from Booking.com said they take issues seriously. They investigate complaints and can block accounts if needed. They’re working with the property owner and can remove listings if disturbances continue.
