Bristol: The BBC has released a first look at Boarders season two. This comedy-drama was filmed in Bristol and will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three starting February 3.

The show is created by Daniel Lawrence Taylor, who also stars as Gus. It’s produced by Studio Lambert and filmed at The Bottle Yard Studios and various locations in Bristol.

The production team built sets for the characters’ London homes at The Bottle Yard. They also filmed at a Bristol school featured in season one. Additional locations included King’s Road in Clifton and Dove Street estate in Kingsdown.

Filming extended beyond Bristol to places like Berwick Lodge and Brean Theme Park in Somerset. Around 90 crew members worked daily, with over 70% being local. They also provided training opportunities for local talent.

Latent Pictures, a Bristol company, produced behind-the-scenes footage for the series. Studio Lambert’s Creative Director praised Bristol’s support during filming.

Laura Aviles from the Bristol City Council highlighted the economic impact of productions like Boarders, which generated over £30 million last year. Local trainee Sophie shared her positive experience in the art department.

In season two, five talented teens navigate life at a British boarding school after receiving scholarships. They face challenges as they strive to make the most of their opportunities.

The new headmistress, Carol Watlington-Geese, wants them gone, adding tension to the story. The series features guest appearances from Natalie Cassidy and Alan Cumming. Boarders season two will be available on BBC iPlayer from February 3.
