Next week, 11 counties in England are preparing for a significant snowstorm, with forecasts predicting up to 12 inches of snow in some areas.
England: Next week, 11 counties are in for a big snowstorm. Weather maps show up to 12 inches of snow could hit the Pennines on February 16.
The Pennines run through several counties, including Northumberland, Cumbria, and Greater Manchester. Expect significant snowfall in these areas.
On February 16, the Cairngorms might see about 5.9 inches of snow. Northumberland National Park could get around 4.3 inches, while Greater Manchester may have 6.3 inches.
Parts of North Wales could also experience about 3.9 inches of snow. The forecast is based on data from the Met Desk.
Nick Finnis from Netweather TV mentioned that next weekend could bring some uncertainty. High pressure may weaken, allowing a weather system to move in from the west.
Some rain and snow could reach the north and west, possibly spreading east on Saturday. Sunday looks to be colder and drier as high pressure returns.
Models suggest a cold easterly flow will develop, starting Sunday. This could bring some snow flurries to southern and eastern England early next week.
However, there’s still uncertainty about how cold it will get and whether snow will actually fall. Eastern areas are more likely to see snow from showers off the North Sea.
